To support Sturgeon Public Schools through clear and relevant communication of our division goals and measures with our board of trustees.

Areas of Strength
- Connection to local community and demonstrated leadership of local school.
- Establishing positive involvement of parents or guardians in supporting learning initiatives.
- Positive working relationship with our trustees through activities such as STEAM games.
Areas of Growth
- Using concise language and proper channels of communication within the operational guidelines of a School Board.
- Focus on pre-determined messages and intentionally built communication scripts.
- Connection with local and provincial political leadership.
- Connection with Alberta wide division level leadership.
Action Strategies
- Build a summary of Sturgeon Public Schools achievement with provincial assessment and present it to our School Board.
- Build a presentation outlining our division’s measures on the Accountability Pillar and provincial assessments and share this with Senior Leadership and then our School Board.
- Construct school templates for our principals to allow them to share the work of their schools clearly with our School Board.
- Build a community stakeholder engagement plan and present it to our School Board.
- Conduct a community engagement plan, and present our findings to Senior Leadership and the School Board.
- Enroll in the CASS mentorship program, connect with a Mentor, and meet regularly. In addition, attend CASS conferences and engage in sessions targeted to understanding governance.
Measures
- Create summary of Provincial measures and present to Board September
- Create detailed AERR update and present to Board November
- Create 3 Year Plan Update and present to Board November
- Attend CASS Fall and Spring Conference Fall / Spring
- Enroll in CASS Mentorship and connect regularly with mentor Ongoing
- Build engagement plan, carry out, present to board Fall then Spring
- After each presentation, request feedback with Deputy Superintendent Ongoing
